The Research Center for Infection, Inflammation, and Immunity – RCi³, an interdisciplinary network of researchers involved in basic and application-based research, concentrates Charité's research efforts in the field of immunology. Aside from focusing on the study of disease etiology, the center is also committed to the development of new treatments for conditions marked by chronic inflammation, such as autoimmune diseases, allergies, cancer, and transplant rejection.
